Second Workshop on Graphs and Matroids
1 - 7 August 2010, Maastricht, The Netherlands

(The Third Workshop on Graphs and Matroids will be 29 July - 3 August 2012 in Maastricht. The first was Sittard 2008.)

The workshop is an international meeting of about 50 researchers, including postdocs and students, working on structural aspects of minor-closed properties of graphs and matroids. Topics and research questions that will be discussed during the workshop are theoretical. The underlying inspiration can be found in the fact that many real-world problems can be very effectively described by a network (graph) or a matrix (matroid) and that efficient methods to solve such problems then often rely on our understanding of the structure of these graphs and matrices.
The program consists of lectures by participants and has plenty of opportunities for discussion in small groups. The workshop takes place at The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics.
